Would you like to dance?

Building the platform behind Europe’s largest fusion dance event.

What began as a Bristol-based monthly dance event has grown into the largest fusion dance event in Europe. As Kaleidoscope Fusion expanded, it needed more than a website - it needed a complete digital platform capable of supporting its identity, its community, and the logistics behind increasingly ambitious events.

Lynton Black Media designed and built that platform from the ground up. From branding and front-end design through to a bespoke CMS, ticketing system, and custom CRM, the entire package was created to help Kaleidoscope Fusion run smoothly, scale confidently, and deliver a better experience for organisers and attendees alike.

Creating the identity and front-end presence

The project started with the foundations - giving Kaleidoscope Fusion a clear digital identity and a website that could properly represent the energy, warmth, and individuality of the event.

We developed the visual identity and branding, then translated that into a front-end experience designed to feel welcoming, clear, and easy to navigate. The site became the public face of Kaleidoscope Fusion - a place where people could discover the event, understand what it stands for, and begin their journey towards attending.

Building a system around the realities of live events

Behind the front-end, Kaleidoscope Fusion needed a practical system to manage the complexity of running large dance events. Off-the-shelf tools were not a good fit, so we created a bespoke CRM and ticketing platform tailored to the way the organisers work.

Integrated directly with the content management system, the CRM gives Kaleidoscope Fusion control over the full event lifecycle. Events can be created and managed, tickets assigned to specific events, pricing and allocations configured, and sales monitored in real time. Stripe was integrated as the payment gateway, allowing ticket purchases to be handled securely through the website.

Rather than forcing the organisers to adapt to generic software, the platform was shaped around their actual workflow.

Putting the attendee survey at the centre of the process

One of the most important parts of the system is the attendance survey - a feature that plays a central role in how Kaleidoscope Fusion manages its events and supports its community.

Before a visitor can buy a ticket, they complete a short survey covering their basic details, preferences, needs, and understanding of Kaleidoscope’s code of conduct. This is not just a form added to the booking process - it is a meaningful part of how the event maintains a safe, thoughtful, and well-managed environment.

All responses are captured and stored within the system, giving the Kaleidoscope team the information they need to review applicants, understand attendee requirements, and approve tickets accordingly. The result is a more informed, intentional approach to event management that supports both organisers and guests.

Extending the experience beyond checkout

The platform does not stop once a ticket has been purchased. To support attendees after booking, we also developed a front-end ticket-holder portal where customers can sign in and manage their relationship with the event.

From the portal, users can view their purchases and access the usual account management features expected from a modern customer experience. This gives ticket holders a clearer, more self-sufficient journey, while reducing administrative friction for the organisers.

A platform built to grow with the event

Kaleidoscope Fusion is not a static brand or a one-off event, and the platform was never designed as a fixed product. It is an evolving system built to support a growing organisation with changing needs.

Lynton Black Media continues to maintain and develop the platform, ensuring that Kaleidoscope Fusion has the technical infrastructure it needs to keep growing. What started as a website project became a complete operational system - one that now sits at the heart of how Europe's largest fusion dance event presents itself, sells tickets, manages attendees, and runs month after month.
