Help for your existing PHP system
A hosting deadline, a failed update or a system nobody wants to touch. You need to know what is wrong, what is at risk and what it will take to put it right.
We work with existing PHP applications, including software built by other developers. The starting point is understanding your system, not assuming you need a replacement.
Let’s fix what’s holding you back.
Find the compatibility issues before a forced upgrade interrupts the business.
Trace errors in forms, logins, payments, integrations or the tools your team uses.
Understand the exposure, prioritise fixes and establish a maintainable way forward.
A clear first step
We agree the scope and fee for an initial technical review before work starts. You get a practical basis for deciding what to repair, upgrade or replace.
Talk through your situationWhat we found, the likely causes and the parts of the business affected.
Urgent fixes, upgrade dependencies and improvements that can be planned later.
Recommended work, an estimate, testing requirements and a controlled release plan.
From the public website to the back office
Move towards a supported PHP release, resolve incompatible code and review the libraries, extensions and hosting configuration it depends on.
Legacy PHP · Frameworks · Custom applications
Diagnose front-end symptoms and back-end causes, from broken enquiries and checkout flows to CRM records, reporting and scheduled tasks.
Front-end · Back-end · Integrations
Review access controls, data handling, sessions, uploads and configuration. Address identified weaknesses and reduce unnecessary exposure.
Application code · Permissions · Configuration
Bring your audit findings, hosting requirements or customer security questions. We can help identify and remediate technical gaps, with a record of changes and tests. A PHP upgrade alone is not a compliance certificate or a guarantee of security.
Careful changes to important software
Agree authorised access, review the code and environment, and identify critical journeys with your team.
Use a separate test environment where practical. Check affected workflows, integrations and data before release.
Agree backups, a release window and rollback arrangements. Document the changes and remaining maintenance needs.
Experience behind the advice
Our work spans bespoke content management, online retail and business software. These projects show how we connect what customers see with the tools a business needs.
Before we start
Yes. We start by reviewing the available source code, hosting and documentation. Access, licensing and the condition of the software determine what is practical. We will explain any limits before agreeing the work.
No. An unsupported version is a risk indicator, not proof of a breach. It no longer receives upstream security fixes. We check the actual environment and application, rather than assuming a version change resolves every weakness. See PHP’s current support schedule.
We aim to minimise disruption through testing and a planned release. Some systems need a maintenance window. We identify that early, agree a suitable time and prepare a rollback approach; we do not promise zero downtime before reviewing the system.
That depends on the system, access and urgency. Tell us about the symptoms and any deadline. We will confirm availability and propose the scope and fee for diagnosis, then estimate the remedial work. Sending an enquiry does not commit you to paid work.
Tell us that first and contact your hosting provider immediately. Avoid sending credentials or sensitive records through this form. This is a consultancy enquiry service, not a monitored emergency response line; we will confirm whether we can assist and where specialist incident response is needed.
Let’s work out the next step
A brief description and any deadline are enough to start. No technical brief needed. We’ll reply by email with questions and a proposed next step.
